What themes are covered in our course?
UX 101
Our UX training kicks off with a look at what UX really is, and what it definitely isn’t. Then we zoom in on the user: who are they? What are they doing? How are they feeling? And most importantly: what do they actually want? In this chapter, we lay the foundation for everything that falls under the umbrella of user experience design.
UX approach
In this chapter of the UX design training, we cover user journeys, design thinking and strategic thinking. But there’s more: we’ll also dive into task analysis, personas and information architecture (IA), actually all the essentials to shape meaningful user experiences.
UX principles
Every UX designer works with a specific mindset, guided by principles and rules that help shape the best possible user experience. After this chapter? You’ll be thinking the same way.
Wireframing
Wireframing is a must-have skill in the UX process. You’ll learn how to turn your concept into a solid visual structure, and which principles help guide the way from sketch to skeleton.
Enterprise UX
Apps for (large) companies require a whole different approach than consumer-facing tools. We’ll show you how to tackle enterprise UX and what pitfalls to avoid along the way.
Forms, inputs & UI elements
Everyone fills out forms — they’re familiar, they’re everywhere, but not always user-friendly.In this chapter, you’ll discover best practices for forms and input fields, and learn how smart UI elements can drive better conversions.
User testing & Usability tests
Curious about what user testing really is and how to run one yourself? We’ll guide you through it with practical tips, proven techniques and clear guidelines, so you can confidently plan, set up and execute your own usability tests.
UI tools & guidelines
Which tools should you use for wireframes, designs or prototypes? We’ll walk you through today’s most relevant platforms and bring you up to speed with the latest UX design trends, standards and guidelines.
Figma community
Figma isn’t just a tool, it’s a thriving community full of plug-ins, templates, design systems and smart extras built by fellow designers. We’ll guide you through it, so you know exactly where to find what you need (and what’s worth your time).
The interface
New to Figma? No worries. We’ll walk you through the interface: where to find every tool, button and feature, and what they actually do. By the end, navigating Figma will feel second nature.
Designing in Figma
Time to get your hands dirty. You’ll design your own interface in Figma, guided step by step through interactive exercises. By the end, you won’t just know how to use Figma, you’ll have done it.
Design systems
Brands like Apple, Microsoft and Google all have them, but what exactly is a design system? We’ll explain how they work, how to build or use one yourself, and where to find the best examples out there.
Prototyping
Prototyping turns static screens into interactive experiences. We’ll help you transform your earlier design into a working prototype, so you can feel how your flows behave on an actual device.
Testing with the Figma app
Figma has a helpful app that lets you preview your designs live on your phone, static screens and interactive prototypes. Happy testing!
Plug-ins
Beyond the basics, Figma offers a world of plug-ins that make your design process faster and smarter. We’ll share some of our go-to favourites, and show you exactly how to use them during the design phase.
Collaboration
Designing is rarely a solo mission. You’ll learn how to ask for feedback using comments, collaborate in real time with other designers, and hand off your work to developers using built-in inspect tools. It all comes together in the final chapter.
